Croatian Automobile Club warns of traffic disruption on DC8, increased traffic across the country, and wet roads heightening the risk of delays and landslides.
Due to a traffic accident on the Adriatic Highway (DC8) in the town of Plano, traffic towards Trogir has been halted. As reported by the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK), a detour is possible via state road DC409, and drivers are advised to be patient due to increased traffic density in the area.
According to police information, a passenger car and a commercial vehicle were involved in the accident. One person was injured and transported to the hospital by ambulance, and according to initial reports, the injuries are not expected to be serious. Traffic is moving alternately, with vehicles being let through, and more details will be known after the police investigation.
On the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway, traffic is moving only in the driving lane on two sections. Towards Macelj, this is from km 17+500 to km 13+750, between Krapina and Đurmanec, while towards Zagreb, only the driving lane is open from km 6+700 to km 8+200, on the Trakošćan-Đurmanec section.
On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, roadworks will last until September 1st due to drainage repairs between the Popovača and Kutina interchanges. On the section from km 90+700 to km 93+800 towards Lipovac, traffic is moving through two narrowed lanes, and due to higher vehicle frequency, especially on Fridays, delays and queues can be expected.
Between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges, from km 12+480 to km 15+300, the carriageway towards Lipovac will be closed until October 3rd. Two-way traffic is moving on the carriageway towards Bregana, with two narrowed lanes in each direction. Especially during morning and afternoon hours, as well as throughout the weekend, delays and queues are possible.
According to HAK's traffic forecast for August 17, 2026, roads across the country will be wet and slippery, with occasional flooding possible. Due to locally heavy rain, the risk of landslides is increased on mountain roads.
During morning and afternoon hours, traffic on city roads and bypasses will be slower, especially on the Zagreb (A3) and Rijeka bypasses, on the A2 motorway near the Zagreb zapad interchange towards Zagreb, and on the A4 motorway between the Popovec and Zagreb istok interchanges.
Increased traffic is expected on roads connecting the coast with the interior, and occasional delays and queues will occur in roadwork zones, tunnels, interchanges, rest areas, toll stations, and approaches to tourist destinations. At certain border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro, both passenger and freight traffic will be heavier.
