Summary
  • Accident on DC8 in Brodarica: single lane traffic with a 40 km/h speed limit.
  • On A1 and A2, danger of hitting objects; single lane traffic with an 80 km/h limit on A1.
  • Works on A3 cause narrowed lanes and closed carriageways, with possible queues until early October.
  • For Tuesday, delays are forecast on bypasses, increased traffic towards the coast, and bura wind on the Adriatic.

On the Adriatic Highway (DC8) in Brodarica near Šibenik, a traffic accident has occurred, causing traffic to be reduced to one lane with a speed limit of 40 km/h and police control. Meanwhile, on state road DC58 Šibenik-Plano in the town of Plano, traffic is moving with difficulty due to temporary traffic management, as reported by the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) in its regular report published on August 12, 2026.

In addition to accidents, HAK also warns of the danger of hitting objects on two motorways. On the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway, an object is located at kilometer 55 between the Zagreb zapad and Zaprešić interchanges in the direction of Krapina. On the A1 Zagreb-Split-Dubrovnik motorway, the hazard is at kilometer 295+500 between the Benkovac and Vodice interchanges in the direction of Dubrovnik, where traffic is also reduced to one lane, but with a speed limit of 80 km/h.

Works on A2 and A3: Narrowed Lanes and Closed Carriageways

On the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway, traffic is restricted to the driving lane on two sections. In the direction of Macelj, this is the Krapina, Đurmanec section from km 17+500 to 13+750, and in the direction of Zagreb, the Trakošćan, Đurmanec section from km 6+700 to 8+200.

On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, in the direction of Lipovac, between the Popovača and Kutina exits, from km 90+700 to 93+800, drivers will encounter two narrowed traffic lanes due to drainage system works. The works will last until September 1, and due to higher traffic density, delays and queues are possible, especially on Fridays.

Additionally, on the same motorway between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges, from km 12+480 to 15+300, the carriageway in the direction of Lipovac is closed due to works. Traffic is being diverted to two-way traffic on the carriageway in the direction of Bregana, with two narrowed lanes in both directions. The works last until October 3, and delays and queues are possible especially in the morning and afternoon hours, as well as throughout the day on weekends.

Forecast for Tuesday: Bura Wind, Queues, and Increased Traffic Towards the Coast

For Tuesday, August 13, 2026, HAK forecasts that due to the bura wind on the Adriatic, restrictions may be in place for certain vehicle groups, especially on sections of the Adriatic Highway in the Velebit foothills area. In the morning and afternoon, driving on city roads and bypasses will be slower.

Delays and queues of vehicles are expected, especially on the Zagreb bypass (A3), the Rijeka bypass (A7), on the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway at the Zagreb zapad interchange, and on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges. On roads towards the coast, increased traffic is also expected, and occasional delays are possible in tunnels, rest areas, toll stations, and approaches to tourist destinations.

At some border crossings, longer waiting times for passengers and freight vehicles are possible, and due to strong winds, difficulties in maritime traffic may also occur. Drivers are warned to maintain a safe distance between vehicles and to form an emergency corridor in case of congestion.
