The 'Trag u beskraju' (Trace into Infinity) event, held in Vela Luka in honor of Oliver Dragojević, once again delivered a powerful environmental message this year. On Friday, July 31, 2026, the Vela Luka bay was the site of a major seabed cleaning operation called 'Ka i uvik gledam more' (As I Always Watch the Sea), during which divers diligently removed waste from the seafloor.

The action followed two days of celebration and singing in Oliver's honor on land, at sea, and aboard numerous boats, rounding off the event with care for the sea that was a constant inspiration to the legendary musician. Friends and members of the diving club KPA Vodomar from Duga Resa took part in the cleanup, under the patronage of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.

One Million Euros for Environmental Preservation

Anamarija Brstilo, a representative of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, emphasized the importance of preserving the Adriatic and announced continued investment. "A clean sea is not only our greatest natural treasure but also a responsibility we all share. Croatia can boast of a well-preserved Adriatic, but for it to remain so, each of us must do our part. We do not want our 'trace into infinity' to be plastic, tires, and other waste," Brstilo told Tportal.

According to her, the Fund has secured around one million euros this year for more than 60 association projects, with a full third of these projects dedicated precisely to diving seabed cleanup actions. "We will continue funding in the fall, and we invite all associations involved in environmental cleanup and citizen education to follow our pages," she added.

Oliver's Values in Focus

The Mayor of Vela Luka Municipality, Katarina Gugić, thanked all participants for their effort and dedication. "Initiatives like this remind us how important it is to preserve our sea and natural heritage for future generations. I am especially pleased that the 'Trag u beskraju' event, through its ecological activities, promotes the values that Oliver lived and loved-respect for the sea, nature, and community," Gugić stated.

Valuable assistance in organization and logistical support was also provided by the staff of the Vela Luka communal services. Thanks to their efforts, the town was impeccably clean in the early morning hours after the concert, just as it had been before the big musical event.

'Trag u beskraju' thus once again proved that it transcends the framework of a musical-cultural event, sending a clear message that what we love, we must also protect-for all generations to come.
