A cooking competition in Belica will bring together teams vying for the title of best potato dish, with applications open until Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Belica will host the Potato Festival, a cooking competition where the potato takes center stage. The event is organized by the Municipality of Belica and the Association of Međimurje Producers of Commercial Potatoes (UMPMK), and will take place near the NK BSK Belica football field.
The organizers invite associations, groups of citizens, caterers, and all cooking enthusiasts to gather their teams and showcase their culinary skills. The task is to prepare a dish in which the potato plays the main role. Food preparation begins in the morning, and all competitors' dishes must be completed and submitted for judging by 12:30 PM. Judging follows, with prizes awaiting the best.
The organizers provide competitors with potatoes and basic ingredients, space within the tent, a professional jury, prizes for the best, and a music and entertainment program. Each participant must bring their own pot, burner or gas bottle, as well as their own utensils, spices, and cooking equipment.
Applications are open until Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The application should include the name of the team or competitor, the name and contact person, and the number of members who will participate. The maximum number of team members is four.
