  • 12,951 reviews from over 150 online platforms were analyzed.

This July, even during the peak pressure on tourist infrastructure, Zadar managed to maintain an exceptionally high level of guest satisfaction. According to the latest online reputation analysis conducted by IQM Destination, the overall visitor satisfaction score stands at 89 out of 100, placing it on par with Rovinj.

The analysis is based on 12,951 online reviews left by guests across more than 150 platforms, including Google Maps, Booking.com, Expedia, and TripAdvisor. Although the total number of reviews dropped by 8% compared to last July, the quality of ratings in key segments has improved.

Gastronomy and Attractions Lead Satisfaction

Guests rated the service and food quality particularly well. The service segment scored 84/100, and food quality 82/100, representing a qualitative growth of 3% and 2%, respectively. Restaurants achieved an excellent 92/100 even during the busiest times, with a 1% increase.

Tourist agencies and local attractions received the highest ratings, at 94/100, while beaches were rated 87/100, also with a 1% increase compared to last year.

Accommodation: Hotels Communicate, Private Rentals Decline

Accommodation shows mixed trends. Hotels maintained a stable score of 86/100, particularly standing out for their guest communication, responding to as many as 50% of received online reviews. On the other hand, private accommodation, although still decent with a score of 83/100, is experiencing a 5% decline in quality and 25% fewer reviews compared to the same period last year.

Similar trends are visible in marinas, which scored 86/100. However, there has been a 6% drop in quality and 28% fewer reviews than last July.

Infrastructure and Room for Better Communication

Public infrastructure and cafés received the same score of 81/100. While infrastructure shows a slight increase in satisfaction, café ratings fell by 3%. Although hotels demonstrate how active communication can be done, the destination as a whole responds to only 19% of online reviews, which analysts see as a significant opportunity for building guest trust.
