The new venue 'doca' will offer coffee, brunch, dinner, and cocktails inspired by the Adriatic, with a special focus on the Sundowner Ritual at sunset.
Rijeka will soon have a new gastronomic destination, a restaurant and bar called 'doca', located overlooking the Kvarner Bay. The space is designed to change its function throughout the day, from morning coffee and brunch to evening cocktails, without a sharp boundary between restaurant, bar, and lounge.
The bar will play as important a role as the kitchen. The inspiration for the cocktails will come from the seashore, aromatic herbs, citrus, and flavors that define the Adriatic, so the story that begins on the plate will continue in the glass. In the daily rhythm of doca, the Sundowner Ritual will stand out, marking the transition from daytime to evening atmosphere.
That part of the day, with music, cocktails, and a view of Kvarner, could become one of the signature features of the new Rijeka location. Although the details of the ritual are still being kept for the grand opening, it is clear that the sunset here will not just be a backdrop, but a natural bridge between two parts of the day.
The visual identity of the space is an equally important part of the concept. The interior of doca is designed by world-renowned designer Saar Zafrir, who has connected the restaurant, bar, and lounge into an open concept inspired by the sea, Rijeka's port, and the casual elegance of the old Adriatic rivieras.
A local creative touch is also provided by Juraj Zigman, the author of the staff uniforms. The look of these uniforms has not yet been revealed, so this blend of Rijeka style and fashion remains one of the secrets to be unveiled only at the opening.
doca is part of the new Adriatic story, but its ambition goes far beyond a classic hotel restaurant. The intention is for it to be a space that locals will embrace as their own for a morning coffee, a spontaneous breakfast, a long lunch, a drink, or dinner as the sun sets.
That is exactly how it is conceived within the new hotel vision: as a place that connects the hotel and the city, gastronomy and social life, and above all, everyday life with the sea.
